We thank you all for your patience as we navigate through this Corona virus crisis. We are doing our best to ensure the safety and welfare of our athletes, families, and staff. On March 20, USA Volleyball eliminated the sanctioning of all activities until April 15. Therefore, all Alliance activities are canceled through that date.
Below are some questions and answers as we try to address some immediate concerns.
Are practices canceled?
Currently all practices (Franklin and Satellite) have been canceled until further notice. USA Volleyball has eliminated the sanctioning of all USAV events including but not limited to events, practices, individual training sessions or anything covered by USA Volleyball insurance.
Will I receive a refund?
This is a fluid situation and we are monitoring updates and receiving information daily on tournament cancellation and potential recourse. We are taking every applicable measure to protect our players’ well-being, and to care for the ongoing financial needs of our vendors, coaches, and staff. We are also doing our best to look at options to make up tournaments and extending the season. Just like the situation nationally, we won’t have answers to specific financial questions until we see how everything plays out.
Which tournaments have been canceled or postponed?
Many tournaments have been cancelled or postponed to date. Given the fluidity of the situation, the rescheduling of tournaments and extending of season cannot be determined at this point.
Here is the current list of cancellations or postponements:
-March 28-29: 18s Regionals
-March 29: March Sunday Blast
-April 3-5: JVA World Challenge
-April 4-5: Nashville Open
-April 4-5: AAU Super Regional Birmingham
-April 10-12: Big South Qualifier
Should I cancel my travel plans?
Flights and hotels purchased on your own for events up to April 15 should be canceled. Some housing companies have handled the cancellations on their own, such as MEQ, JVA World Challenge, and AAU Birmingham.
We will leave to your discretion cancellation of any travel plans for other tournaments not listed above.
